Description

The ACR Firefly PRO SOLAS Strobe Light 3970.3 is a compact, manually activated emergency rescue light designed for life jackets, ditch bags, vessel safety kits, and personal emergency signalling. It features three operating modes—ultra-bright strobe, SOS strobe, and steady-on—so it can be used for long-range visual signalling as well as close-up recovery operations. The wide-emission cool white LED produces a 360° beam with 41 candela strobe intensity and visibility of over 3 miles.

  • Run time: 56 hours strobe, 28 hours steady-on, and 30 hours SOS.

Intended Use

The Firefly PRO SOLAS is intended for emergency visual signalling on boats, life jackets, survival gear, commercial marine safety kits, and personal rescue equipment. It is suitable for recreational and commercial marine use where a high-visibility emergency strobe is required or preferred.

Fitment Notice

This is the manual SOLAS version of the Firefly PRO series. For applications requiring automatic water activation, use the Firefly PRO Waterbug version instead. Always confirm the required approval standard for your vessel, region, and onboard safety-equipment requirements before replacing or adding emergency signalling gear.

When This Product Needs Replacement

Replace an emergency strobe light if the housing is cracked, the switch does not operate reliably, the light output is weak, the battery compartment shows corrosion, the unit has failed testing, or the equipment no longer meets the required onboard safety standard. Batteries should be checked regularly and replaced before expiry or extended storage.

Installation Notes

Mount the Firefly PRO SOLAS where it can be reached quickly in an emergency, such as on a life jacket, belt, pack, or emergency kit. The compact body, two lashing loops, and included Velcro strap are designed to make mounting straightforward while keeping the light accessible when needed. Test operation before service use and install fresh AA batteries according to the instruction sheet.

Parts Desk Insight

The key difference to watch is activation style. 3970.3 is the manual SOLAS model, which is ideal when you want positive control of the strobe. If the application calls for automatic activation when submerged, the Waterbug version is the better match.
