The SS60 is a 600 W, 50/200 kHz transducer which integrates Airmar’s popular, Tilted Element feature. This Tilted Element transducer has the ceramic element fixed at a 20° or 12° angle within the housing. When the transducer is installed almost flush to the hull, the tilt of the element corrects for the hull deadrise. By orienting the beam directly down, it ensures maximum echo returns to the transducer and more accurate depth readings.

Available in three Tilted Element models:

• Fixed 20° tilted version for 16 to 24° hull deadrise angles
• Fixed 12° tilted version for 8 to 15° hull deadrise angles

The SS60 is the stainless-steel version of Airmar’s popular, B60, Tilted Element™ transducer. This product provides a vertical beam without a fairing. Inside the housing, the ceramic element is tilted for built-in deadrise compensation. The resulting vertical beam returns crisp echoes for more-accurate depth readings. For hulls with a minimal deadrise angle, it is also available without tilt. The nearly-flush housing minimizes drag with only 5 mm (3/16″”) extending outside of the hull. The SS60 is currently being used by the US Coast Guard.
