Description
Heat Shrink Ring Terminal — 16–14 AWG, 3/8″ Stud, 25-Pack
Achieve watertight, professional-grade wire terminations with these adhesive-lined heat shrink ring terminals. Combining a tinned copper crimp barrel with a dual-wall heat shrink sleeve, the 825085 creates a sealed, corrosion-resistant connection in a single step — the gold standard for marine electrical wiring where moisture, salt, and vibration are constant threats.
Key Features
- Dual-Wall Adhesive-Lined Heat Shrink — Inner adhesive layer melts and flows into the crimp zone when heated, sealing out moisture and preventing corrosion at the connection point
- 16–14 AWG Wire Range — Fits the most common gauge range for marine accessory wiring, lighting circuits, instrument feeds, and panel connections
- 3/8″ Stud Size — Compatible with 3/8″ battery posts, bus bars, and stud-mounted terminals found throughout marine electrical systems
- Tinned Copper Barrel — Corrosion-resistant tinned copper ensures a low-resistance, gas-tight crimp that maintains conductivity in salt and humid environments
- Closed-Ring Design — Ring cannot slip off the stud even if the nut loosens, making it the preferred terminal for any vibration-prone installation
- 25-Pack Quantity — Sufficient for a full wiring project or a well-stocked onboard spares kit

Heat Shrink vs Standard Nylon Terminals
Standard nylon ring terminals (e.g., SKU 829714) provide good mechanical protection but leave the crimp zone exposed to moisture. Heat shrink terminals add an adhesive-lined sleeve that seals the entire connection — critical for below-deck, bilge-adjacent, or any installation where water contact is likely. For marine applications, heat shrink terminals are always the preferred choice where budget allows.
Installation Notes
Strip wire to the correct length so the conductor fills the barrel without extending beyond it. Crimp with a ratcheting crimper sized for the terminal gauge — do not use plier-style crimpers. After crimping, apply heat evenly with a heat gun (not an open flame) until the sleeve shrinks uniformly and adhesive is visible flowing from both ends. Allow to cool before handling. Do not over-heat — excessive temperature can damage the insulation or conductor.
The 825085 is the right terminal for any marine wiring job where a watertight, long-lasting connection is non-negotiable.
