Description

Ancor Heat Shrink Butt Connector — 16–14 AWG, 50-Pack

Make clean, watertight inline wire splices with Ancor’s industry-leading heat shrink butt connectors. The VER-81215 50-pack gives you a full project supply of 16–14 AWG connectors — the most common gauge range for marine accessory wiring, lighting circuits, instrument feeds, and panel connections — with the adhesive-lined heat shrink sleeve that sets Ancor apart from standard butt connectors.

Key Features

  • Ancor Marine-Grade Quality — Ancor is the benchmark for marine electrical connectors, manufactured to ABYC E-11 and UL 1426 standards for marine wiring applications
  • Dual-Wall Adhesive-Lined Heat Shrink — Inner adhesive flows into the crimp zone during heating, creating a fully sealed, waterproof splice that resists corrosion in salt, bilge, and high-humidity environments
  • 16–14 AWG Wire Range — Covers the most common marine accessory gauge range; suitable for navigation lights, bilge pumps, VHF feeds, instrument wiring, and general panel circuits
  • Tinned Copper Barrel — Corrosion-resistant tinned copper crimp barrel ensures a low-resistance, gas-tight connection with long-term conductivity
  • Inline Splice Design — Joins two wire ends end-to-end for clean, professional wire extensions, repairs, and splices without junction boxes
  • 50-Pack Quantity — Sufficient for a full wiring project or a well-stocked service bench

Butt Connectors vs Ring Terminals — When to Use Each

  • Butt connectors — Use when joining two wire ends inline: extending a wire run, repairing a broken circuit, or splicing in a new component mid-run
  • Ring terminals — Use when terminating a wire end at a screw, stud, or bus bar connection point

For a complete marine wiring kit, pair the VER-81215 butt connectors with Ancor heat shrink ring terminals (SKU 46388 for 1/4″ stud, SKU 825085 for 3/8″ stud) in the same 16–14 AWG gauge range.

Installation Notes

Strip both wire ends to the correct length so each conductor fills half the barrel without the conductors touching each other. Insert one wire from each end and crimp firmly with a ratcheting crimper rated for 16–14 AWG — do not use plier-style crimpers. Apply heat evenly with a heat gun from the center outward until the sleeve shrinks uniformly and adhesive flows from both ends. Allow to cool before flexing or routing. Do not use an open flame.

With 50 connectors per pack and Ancor’s proven marine-grade construction, the VER-81215 is the right choice for any marine wiring project where a sealed, vibration-proof inline splice is required.
