Interlux Bottomkote CA Blue INT-YBM010-QT is a blue ablative antifouling bottom paint designed for season-to-season protection below the waterline. Bottomkote CA wears away gradually with use, helping reduce old paint build-up and minimizing heavy sanding during future recoats. It is suitable for power and sail boats in fresh, salt, and brackish water, and is formulated for protection against barnacles, zebra mussels, algae, slime, and other common hull fouling.

Application Compatibility

Bottomkote CA is intended for properly prepared below-waterline marine surfaces. Current product references list compatibility with GRP / FRP fiberglass, wood, steel, carbon fibre, previously painted surfaces, and properly prepared metal substrates. For aluminum and underwater metals, use the correct Interlux primer system and follow the technical data sheet carefully before applying Bottomkote CA.

When This Part Needs Replacement

Recoat with Bottomkote CA when the existing antifouling has worn thin, fouling protection has dropped off, the hull is being prepared for a new season, or the previous coating is no longer providing reliable protection. Any loose, failing, or incompatible old paint should be removed or properly prepared before recoating.

Installation Notes

Mix thoroughly before use and apply at least two coats. Apply an extra stripe coat on high-wear areas such as chines, rudders, stern gear, leading edges, and other areas that see heavier water flow. Previously painted surfaces in good condition should be sanded with 80-grit paper and cleaned before application. Bare fiberglass, wood, steel, aluminum, and underwater metals require the preparation and primer system specified by Interlux. Touch-dry, overcoat, and immersion times vary by temperature, so use the current technical data sheet before painting.
